A dress a week til christmas - Week 12 - The final!
Alright ladies last chance to get your hands on a Love Lucy creation for a steal!
Here is this weeks fabric...
A light blue cotton with white polka dots. Cute!
And here are the designs. All one's that haven't made the cut on previous occasions, this is their last chance to make the collection too...
1. Swing skirt with contrast buttons and collar
Probably more like a full skirt, but no gather at the waist. Contrast top part in white.
2. Sleeveless shirt style dress
I am totally a fan of this one. I sort of think my drawing doesn't do it any justice...
and 3. Boat neck with bows on the shoulders
Super cute. Swing style skirt (not quite full circle) ties at the shoulders in little bows (not as big as I have drawn them I don't think!)
So there you have it, who's getting the final one! Remember first person to email me at jennamclachlan@hotmail.com with which style they like can have it made up to their measurements for only $45! Get in quick...

A dress a week til christmas - Week 11!
Oh gosh down to the last couple of weeks now! Read about what's going on here, otherwise here is this week's fabric...
I know I hinted I was going to do an animal print/black combo, but I went black and red instead. Both a stretch cotton sateen, the colour is pretty close to real life in the picture.
And here is this weeks designs...
1. Strapless with contrast collar and buttons
Pretty much exactly like the picture. Pencil skirt, split in the back.
2. Halter with contrast ties
A little bit of a gather in the front of the top, ties around the top in black. Pencil skirt, split in the back.
And finally...
3. Strapless with buttons in front, tie at the back
Red up the top with buttons down centre front, ties at the back. A little bit of a cutout in the back.
So there you go, first person to email me (jennamclachlan@hotmail.com) with which design they like can have it made up to their measurements for only $45! Total bargain! Remember to get in quick, and this is the second to last week so you don't want to miss out... xoxo

A dress a week til christmas - Week 10
It honestly doesn't feel like I have made 9 dresses in the past how many months, but apparently we are up to week 10 of a dress a week til christmas!
So here is this weeks fabric...
A lilac broderie anglaise. This is totally my most favourite colour EVER. Looks great on anyone, and you don't see a lot of it around so something a little bit spesh.
And this weeks designs are as follows:
1. Boat neck sleeveless with full skirt
Pretty much just like the picture, very Audrey Hepburn.
2: Sleeveles collared shirt dress, full skirt
Kind of like the design from last week, but without the sleeves.
and...
3: Tie straps with full skirt
Relatively simple style, but I think it will look great in this fabric. Super easy to wear over the summer.
So there you go, remember first person to email me (jennamclachlan@hotmail.com) with which design they like can have it made up to their measurements for only $45! Total bargain. Getting close to christmas, remember it doesn't have to be for yourself either! I'm sure there's some sisters/wives/girlfriends out there who would appreciate a smashing new handmade dress in their christmas stocking!

Week 9 - almost complete
Just needs a zip in the back and some lining in the skirt (which will make it a tad poofier) I love this fabric!

A bit on the side
Here's a couple of designs I have been working on alongside the dress project the past couple of weeks.
First a dress much like the one I made for Cheryl, but with a small adjustment. Kick pleats in the front with white lining...
And matching outfits for cousins Veronica and baby Moo...
They are gonna look so cute this summer!
On a side note, week 9 of a dress a week til christmas is still up for grabs. GET IN THERE!!!

A dress a week til christmas - Week 9
Hello everyone! Welcome to week 9 of a dress a week til christmas! I'm a little excited about this week, the fabric has a little christmassy feel to it, and these designs are inspired by some of the vintage patterns I have (thanks Grandma!)
So here is this weeks fabric...
Rosey red with a black background, a cotton fabric with a slightly silky feel. Would be great for summer, nice and light.
And here's the designs...
1. Peasant style top with fitted middle and full skirt
Pretty much just like the picture, a nice style for picnics in the park on a hot summer afternoon.
2. Boat neck with pleat detail, full skirt
Sleevless boat-neck style, with a pleat detail around the neckline in front. Full skirt at knee length.
And last but not least...
3. Shirt style dress with sleeves, full skirt
A total winner if you are after the 50's housewife style. I have a sleevless version of this myself it's probably one of my favourites in my collection. I'm thinking contrast fabric for the collar and sleeve turn up's, most likely black.
So there it is, week 9 is underway! First person to email me at jennamclachlan@hotmail.com with which style they like can have it made up to their measurements for only $45. I know which one is my favourite I can't wait to see which is yours!
P.S: photos of week 8 coming very shortly, plus some other projects I have been working on lately.
P.S.S: are you loving the better quality photos? I sure am! Now just need to hijack some babes to dress up and take photos of. You know who you are.... look out.... hahaha

A dress a week til Christmas - week 8
First things first, I am trying to blog from my iPod because I have no laptop anymore. Sorry if this turns out a little confusing, hope you can follow along.
This weeks fabric is a stretch cotton in a fabulous grey/white/black tiger print. Super fun!
Here's the descriptions for the designs:
1. Halter with gathered front.
A pretty plain design, don't think you really need too much going on with this fabric!
2. Cap sleeve, button front
Cute style similar to a navy and white dress I have myself. Mock buttons on the front, probably in black.
3. Button front, contrast trim.
A returning style, I really think this one would look fab in the cat print, with black trim at the top and black buttons.
First person to email me (jennamclachlan@hotmail.com) with which design they like can have it made up to their measurements for only $45! Score!

A dress a week til christmas - Week 7
Welcome all to week 7! to find out how this works check out this page, oherwise lets get this underway.
Here is the fabric for this week...
It's a cotton seersucker fabric. A little more heavy than a regular gingham fabric, no stretch at all.
I'm excited for these designs this week, they are all pretty fun!
1. Tie front halter with cutout
I actually had a dress like this in red gingham not so long ago. The centre ties up leaving a little cutout just under the boobs (saucy darling!). Thin halter straps, full skirt.
2. Peasant style top, full skirt
I went through a phase in high school of making peasant tops non stop. So super cute, cowboy boots and hat optional. Ha.
And...
3. Button up front

The button would be just for decoration, and I picture the little fold over part up the top in white. Swing skirt this time, would look cute with a little white belt too.

Don't hesitate, I'm pretty sure this ones gonna go fast. Picutres of last weeks dress coming soon.

A dress a week til christmas - Week 6!
Hey guys, sorry for the late post. Got carried away eating mc-nuggets at the mall.
Anywho, due to the fab response to last weeks fabric (sorry for those of you who missed out!) I went for sort of the same thing this week. Also, you may notice some of the styles repeated, just because I like them and I can.
To follow along, check out the rules here, otherwise here is this weeks fabric...
Same pattern as last week, only this week it's not chiffon. Stretch cotton this time.
And here's the designs...
1. Sweetheart neckline, cap sleeve, pencil skirt
Pretty much explains itself this one.
2: Like week 1's style, but with a pencil skirt
Okay so imagine if this red top and this skirt made a dress baby.
and 3: Pencil skirt dress from week 2
One that didn't make it last time, but i think would make a swell dress in the polka dot.
So there we have it, week 6. First person to email me (jennamclachlan@hotmail.com) with which design they like can have it made up to their measurements for only $45.
xoxo
p.s: sorry photos of last weeks design coming tomorrow. I can only handle one post on this super slow computer.
