Cooking up some new ideas for summer

I got the shock of my life when I opened the blog this morning, and realised that my last post was almost a year ago. Life has been a little hectic, my new job has me all over the place and dancing always gets a little intense around this time of year, but I'm comfortable enough with my timetable that I think it's time to add Love Lucy back into the mix.

Thanks to those that have emailed me recently, you have kept me on my toes and thinking about designs and fresh ideas. I am a pretty lazy person, and you are the ones who push me to keep up my creative side and get to work! Thank you to every one of you.

So Christmas and summer are just around the corner. That means functions galore! If you want something a little different for the Christmas work-do this year, or just a nice summer frock to rock around at the beach, give me an email and lets talk designs!

Thank you all again, look forward to hearing from you :)

It's been a while...

Yes it has. And I haven't been completely lazy, just had a couple of projects I couldn't blog about til after the event!

Over the last few months I picked up a project making rock 'n' roll competition dresses for two lovely ladies, Elissa and Jodi. Both worn at the nationals this year, both girls placed in the best dressed competition (woop woop!) and also the dancing part as well. I really enjoyed making these! Cute, very original 50's styled dresses with matching bolero jackets...

First up Elissa's dress. A halterneck style with full circle skirt, and matching bolero jacket. The jacket is fully reversable too.

And here's jodie's dress. Similar to a style I had done before, but using net on the gathered bodice so you could still see the pattern through. Once again matching jacket which is fully reversable.

Well done girls (and partners!). I will try to update the blog a little more regularly now life has slowed down a little, more treats to come soon!

If you like anything you see on the blog, flick me an email to jennamclachlan@hotmail.com and we can discuss details xoxo

Date night dress

I love playing with textures, and this dress has so many I totally love it. Satin, lace and a little velvet trim. The perfect dress for an amazing night out, right Cheryl? Hopefully it makes it to singapore for the big night!

I think I'm gonna need one of these myself.

If there is anything you see on my blog here you would like for yourself, I do custom make to order. Please flick me an email to jennamclachlan@hotmail.com with your ideas and I can let you know details! x

Spotty for summer

A little vany and white spot strapless number for Ginnie. The first of about 5 frocks I hope to have done in the next week!

May favourite part? Definately the little kick pleats with bow detail at the front.
As always, if you see anything you like on the blog, or have an idea of your own for a dress, I do custom make to order. Email me jennamclachlan@hotmail.com for inquiries!

Something a little warmer for winter

I'm not gonna lie, summer is my favourite season. Winter just doesn't seem as inspiring, but I decided to give something different a go. Michelle challenged me to create her something for the winter season, and here it is...

3/4 sleeve with a swing style skirt and self-tie belt. Would look cute with a belt in brown or maroon though too I think.

Still needs buttons in the front, and thinking perhaps a couple of little ones on the sleeves too. Or bows in maroon, they always go down a treat :)

As always, if you're ever after something for yourself send me an email

Cherries galore and vintage floral shirt

This weeks creations. First a dress for myself out of the ginham with cherries fabric I post about last week. Just a simple strapless number, with a little tulle underneath to make it nice and poofy...

And the second is a wide collared shirt for Emma out of some vintage floral fabric she sent me. Can't wait to see how this one looks on! It just needs it's buttons Emma then I shall post it out to you.

Hopefully some more photos of other creations to come tomorrow :)
